When it comes to conference season, many have high expectations for the HR Florida State Council. We are very proud of this fact. Over the past few years we have grown our event to break our own records and continually raise the bar on providing an event that fosters tremendous educational and networking opportunities for human resource and small business professionals from across the globe. In doing so we work to strategically enhance our profession in all capacities.
One way in which we have been able to broaden our reach is through social media. For the past two years we have organized an informational panel featuring top social media/human resources advocates from across the country. These individuals have helped us set a standard for success in relation to getting to know our audience and communicating with them in an effective and efficient manner.
Last year we brought our event to the next level through a partnership with Voice of HR. Through this partnership we were able to further educate our members on the use (and misuse) of social media not only in human resources, but also in other areas of business such as development and branding. Our friends Laurie Ruettimann and Mark Stelzner were on hand to answer questions and man a “social media hub” in our expo hall. In addition, they had a live stream of all of the tweets coming out of the event. It was an amazing scene.
In addition to Voice of HR and our “blogger panel,” we were able to provide pre-conference and general sessions tying in social media with human resources and general business featuring Franny Oxford, William Tincup, Jessica Miller-Merrell and more. Steve Boese was also on site broadcasting multiple episodes of HR Happy Hour.
The feedback we received was phenomenal, in addition to the analytics on the number of tweets and general buzz we created for our event as a collective effort. With that said, we realized very quickly we needed to maintain this momentum as we began to plan for 2011. While I cannot tell you all of the secrets yet, I can tell you that we will be releasing much more information very soon. The first pieces of information I can share with you will be the names of our Social Technology Team for the 2011 HR Florida Conference & Expo.
Beginning tomorrow we will release a post featuring one member of our social technology team each day up until Friday. We hope that you are as excited as we are as we kick off another tremendous year for our organization. Stay tuned for more…
